This year there will be a shift toward warmer metal tones such as brass and copper, edging away from the brash, stainless steel and chrome colder metals. Iron and similar tones are making a come back, very much learning towards the timeless traditional.
The issue was addressed and quickly resolved — the project was completed on time. The kitchen now includes beautiful white cabinetry, marble counters and backsplash, top-of-the-line appliances including dual dishwashers and wall ovens, rich wood flooring, and green accents.
The homeowners had an aggressive timeframe and chose to work with a Bethesda, MD-based design/build firm Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., which also has an office in Falls Church, VA. Much of the project had to be completed via virtual meetings with the homeowners and Case. They began sharing designs via video chats with one quick in-person visit to confirm finishes.
Likened to a snowball gathering momentum, natural tones and materials is big across all interior design hemispheres, including kitchens. Brick veneer (or even brick if possible), adds a rustic one with nature feel, and if done right, will look terrific for time to come.
